Iran - “Not negotiating”

At last, the 15 are to be freed. Let’s hope that there no hitches now.

I am intrigued by Blair’s statement that there was no negotiating. Blair said that the government’s approach was, “firm but calm - not negotiating but not confronting either”.

If this is true, how then were the 15 freed?

Somewhere there has been contact; somewhere there has been discussion; somewhere there has been negotiation but Blair is unable to say so. I imagine, by twisting the English language, Blair would claim that there was no negotiation.

Even at this time he has to spin.
