Very, Very Occasionally - Praise!

After my last post – finding faith in God – with videos which I had played countless times this post should surprise none.  More of the same!

At some point my posts will reflect my wider love of music.

Ever since I started posting primarily about music  - almost 2 years ago now – music has been incredibly important to me: I have been touched and moved countless times but now I am consumed  - in the most wonderful way - by my faith and its music.

First up is Hillsong again with music and words by Reuben Morgan.

You are My Strength                                                               Hillsong

Rarely have I felt so at peace and so at one with the audience [or congregation]!

We finish with a new version of the23rd Psalm – by Stuart Townend.  Already in the few weeks of church-going I’ve heard this twice and it is magical.

23rd Psalm (Stuart Townend version)                    ex Songs of Praise

Until the next time.

Where will my music love be then?

Here we are Calum-
=Saint-Saens writes that "music takes up where speech leaves off, it utters the ineffable, makes us discover in ourselves depths we had not suspected, conveys impressions and states of being that no words can render."=
from this book- http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-Cosmos-Under-God-Unification/dp/1557788367/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1321299004&sr=1-1

One of my favourite of all time it this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GKhDCsLrUg&feature=related

This version is not perfect(it misses an important verse out, but it conveys the mood better than most on line versions.

This is the verse:

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.

Maybe I should clear out my vocals and sing it for you. This song really sings to me :-)

I read your Saint-Saens quote:

"music takes up where speech leaves off, it utters the ineffable, makes us discover in ourselves depths we had not suspected, conveys impressions and states of being that no words can render."

to ex-Mrs Carr and her immediate response was that those words also described prayer. She's right, you know!
